East Pasadena Water Company (EPWC) hosted a tour of the company’s facilities for Assembly Member Chris Holden (D-Pasadena) on September 20. The tour was arranged by Jennifer M. Capitolo, Senior Policy Advisor with Nossaman, LLP, who was joined by EPWC President Lawrence Morales and Field Operations Manager Wayne Goehring as well as Nossaman LLP Policy Advisor Ashley Walker.
Assembly Member Holden, who represents the 41st Assembly District, including East Pasadena, was appointed Chair of the Assembly Utilities and Energy Committee by Speaker Anthony Rendon (D-Lakewood) earlier this year. Based on Assembly Member Holden’s desire to gain further insights into the practices and challenges utilities face, Morales shared EPWC’s origins and current status as a stable, well-managed, high-tech, financially sound water utility that has served its community for more than 87 years.
