The California Water Association’s member, California American Water, broke ground last week on its new headquarters in West Sacramento. Located at 700 Riverpoint Drive, this 40,000-square-foot facility will serve as a central hub for the company’s operations in both California and Hawaii. The project not only consolidates two Sacramento-area offices but also symbolizes a long-term investment in the region and in the communities California American Water servesacross the state.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, employees, civic leaders, and community stakeholders gathered to celebrate this milestone. California American Water President Kevin Tilden emphasized the importance of the new facility, noting that the Sacramento area is home to the company’s largest group of customers, employees, and key partners. Leaders like West Sacramento Mayor Martha Guerrero and Buzz Oates CEO Larry Albaugh echoed these sentiments, underscoring the project’s value to the community and its role in planning for a sustainable future.

California American Water plays a significant role in Sacramento County, where 25 different water providers serve a patchwork of communities. As one of the larger providers in the state, California American serves more than 700,000 customers across California, including in Sonoma, Los Angeles, Monterey, San Diego, Ventura, Merced, and Madera counties.

This new headquarters highlights the leadership and investment our member companies bring to the communities they serve. We congratulate California American Water on this exciting milestone and look forward to seeing the positive impacts this new facility will deliver for customers, employees, and partners in the years to come.
