On December 1, 2016, the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) approved California American Water’s (CAW) acquisition of Meadowbrook Water Company for $4 million. CAW will begin serving the Merced County water system’s approximately 1,650 water connections in 2017.

In a recent press release, CAW’s Director of Northern California Operations S. Audie Foster said, “I am pleased to welcome Meadowbrook Water Company customers and am eager to introduce them to our conservation program that features rebates, free services and devices. Through this acquisition, we will be able to provide customers with safe and reliable water services at a reasonable rate.”
