SAN FRANCISCO – The California Water Association (CWA) has announced the election of new officers to lead the organization during the next two years. CWA represents 108 water utilities throughout the state that are regulated by the California Public Utilities Commission.
Members begin their terms as CWA celebrates its 75th anniversary and recognizes significant accomplishments over the past year, including seeing three CWA-sponsored bills that strengthen customer benefits and protections and that were signed into law by Governor Brown in September. Also, the ongoing conservation by regulated water utility customers, which remains above 20 percent, despite the temporary relaxation of mandatory water reductions by the state, and which continues to exceed the state average.
The Executive Committee will be led by 2017-18 CWA President Lawrence Morales, who is also President of East Pasadena Water Company. The Executive Committee will consist of:
- Keith Switzer (First Vice President); Golden State Water Company, Vice President of Regulatory Affairs
- Evan Jacobs (Second Vice President); California American Water, External Affairs Manager
- Jeanne-Marie Bruno (Third Vice President); Liberty Utilities, Senior Vice President and General Manager
- Joel Reiker (General Secretary/Treasurer); San Gabriel Valley Water Company, Vice President of Regulatory Affairs
- Greg Milleman (Immediate Past President); California Water Service Company, Director of Field Operations
